TXU Energy: Extending the customer relationship beyond commodities with SAP BRIM

Utility customers expect more than fast resolution to power outages; they want safe, reliable service and clear explanations of charges. TXU Energy addressed these demands by introducing new products, such as Web-controlled thermostats and home and HVAC system service warranties. But its existing solutions were not designed for these offerings, making it difficult to bill customers in a timely and transparent manner. Delays in sales outstanding and calls to customer service for billing questions increased. TXU needed a flexible solution to enable fast, accurate, consolidated billing for all energy- and non-energy-related services. The solution also needed to integrate seamlessly with existing SAP infrastructure. TXU chose the SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management solution to help satisfy customers and improve financial metrics.
